Why Salvage? Why VINTAGE?
Integrating salvaged pieces into your home is more than just bringing historic character and charm; with each purchase you are preventing usable architectural materials from going into the landfill while investing your money into quality, well-constructed pieces that will outlast lower-quality pieces available from big-box home improvement stores.
QUALITY + SUSTAINABILITY = VINTAGE House Parts and Radiators
We have all been told to reduce, reuse, and recycle, but architectural salvage takes it to the next level.
Construction waste is one of the largest contributors to waste across the country- particularly in the DC Metro region. Approximately 8,000 pounds of waste is created constructing a 2,000 square foot home, and home renovation is also a huge part of the waste problem. Remodeling and other home reconstruction is happening at record rates in the Washington DC region- and it is estimated that 30% of the construction materials used in renovations end up being thrown away, resulting in completely usable, often historic fabric ending up in the landfill.
That’s where VINTAGE fits into the equation!
